Having spent his professional career in the London Market, Dale Willetts shares his thoughts on the A&H market and Sompo International’s commitment to innovation and building long term relationships.
What’s your back story?
I’ve worked in the London Market all my life for a variety of businesses, starting out as a claims and reinsurance technician before specialising in Accident & Health. I have an ‘intrapreneurial’ mindset – with a passion for innovation that includes technology and culture. When I’m not in the market I love music and cooking for friends. To keep fit I do Muay Thai and I ski when I can.
Tell us about your market sector …
In the A&H world, onboarding new clients, working with many stakeholders in a complex regulatory framework is intense. Done properly, we can use that process to add value and become a long-term strategic partner. That’s our goal and we put time and effort into establishing and nurturing these relationships to ensure we really deliver for the long term.
What’s your USP?
Our team is strong, and we’ve been working together for a long time. We are a data-led company and we know how to deploy analytics to add value through claims and sales analysis for every channel. As we build out our retail broker relationships and our MGA network in Europe, I believe we’re well positioned to share learning, innovation and insights across the countries where we operate.
