Sompo International Reinsurance’s Maggie Hyland, SVP, Head of North American Professional Lines, facilitated the 2021 Insurance Business America (IBA) Virtual Fireside Chat “Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives That Are Working”. Together with Lorrie Leonard of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and Allyson Goffney of AMRisc, Ms. Hyland shared her perspective on inclusion goals and activities that are proving successful, and offered insight into proposed individual contributions that may move the pendulum forward to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry.
When speaking about current Sompo International activities, Ms. Hyand said, “At Sompo, we have a council set-up that is comprised of senior leadership throughout the organization that meets several times during the year and they actually have deliverables. So Sompo International’s leaders are holding themselves accountable to promoting a more inclusive and diverse workplace, which I think is fantastic.”
