I started my career as a management consultant advising financial services businesses in strategy and M&A, finding my way into insurance via a stint in banking.
I joined Hiscox in 2010 as Group Head of Strategy and quickly added the role of Group Chief Risk Officer as the business navigated the onset of Solvency II.
I went on to lead the Claims function of Hiscox UK and Europe, and following the acquisition of DirectAsia – I moved to Singapore to assume the role of CEO, Hiscox Asia.
I moved back to the UK in 2019 on my appointment as CEO, Hiscox UK delivering record profits and navigating our way through a challenging Covid-19 period.
In early 2022 I began to advise to insurance businesses and insuretechs, most notably Abacai, a motor based insuretech.
I joined Sompo in March 2023 and my remit is to build a retail business in the UK, which is an enormous opportunity for us. It’s thrilling to join a company full of ambition, high quality people, and with a license to start from (almost) a blank sheet of paper.
