Akihito Ogata is VP, Head of Sompo’s Multinational Business Unit (MBU) in Japan. Since joining Sompo in 2008, he has held various positions in marketing, cargo underwriting, and overseas insurance operations. In 2022, Aki joined the MBU as the Project Management Office (PMO) lead for the One SOMPO project before assuming his current role in 2025.
As Sompo’s multinational leader in Japan, Aki is dedicated to integrating Sompo Japan Insurance’s multinational operations into Sompo’s broader global platform, aiming to achieve greater efficiency and consistency. With his extensive background in delivering client-focused solutions, Aki plays a pivotal role in helping Sompo provide expertise and exceptional service to its customers.
