I joined Sompo in September 2021, as the middle market and SME underwriting leader for the UK and Europe, focusing on property and liability. I was excited by the chance to work for a business with an international footprint, great financial strength and huge growth aspirations. It was also a tremendous opportunity to build something new, from the ground up, and to expand Sompo’s offering into a segment of the market where it had not historically had a presence. All the pieces are in place now – we have recruited a fantastic team, have built a strong proposition and are unencumbered by any legacy issues. Clients and brokers understand what makes us different and have responded extremely positively.
