Jon Clare

Jon Clare has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, with a strong background in underwriting marine business across the UK. He joined Sompo in July 2023 and is now Head of Retail Marine, Cargo and Transport & Logistics, UK Regions, where he leads the development and growth of Sompo’s regional portfolio across these lines.

Jon works closely with broker partners to deliver sustainable growth, leveraging his extensive market knowledge and longstanding industry relationships. He is also the current Chairman of the Manchester Marine Insurance Association (MMIA).
