Meet Cara Gallagher, SVP Marketing & Communications
Please tell us about your career journey and your path to Sompo.
After a few years in advertising right out of college, I took a chance and accepted a marketing role at an insurance company. Being young and ignorant, I had a pre-conceived notion that the insurance industry would be mundane, and I made it clear that I was a creative type working in an insurance organization, not an insurance professional.
Fast forward, I’ve now been in the industry for over 20 years in various Marketing and Communications roles and my career has been anything but boring. I joined Sompo almost 3 years ago for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for the organization and to work with some awesome people.
What advice do you have for prospective Sompo candidates?

Tell us about an initiative at Sompo that you are most excited for in 2022.
Increasing our brand identity as we expand geographically and aligning more closely with our colleagues in Japan to make Sompo a known brand entity around the world.
What is your idea of a perfect day outside of the office?
Any day on the water or near the water is a great day to me. Add friends and family and it’s as close as it gets to perfect.
