Meet Jamie Savage, Assistant Vice President, Claims Account Manager
Please tell us about your career journey and your path to Sompo.
While working for a large broker, I realized I missed claims and wanted to get back into it, but in an account management role. I had no idea the job actually existed and spent over a year searching. When I came across the Claims Account Manager role on Indeed, I applied immediately. The role was everything I wanted and more. After applying, I realized that fellow Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW) board member Rose Charles, Esq., SVP, Head of Casualty Claims, worked for Sompo, so I reached out to her to let her know of my application, and the rest is history!
What advice do you have for prospective Sompo candidates?
My advice would be to move forward and join the company! I have never been as happy as I am working for a company. The culture is diverse, hard-working and team oriented. Sompo cares and supports their employees, both on and off the clock, and understands that real life can sometimes take over. Employees respect and trust each other, and have a shared commitment to both individual and company achievement.
Tell us about an initiative at Sompo that you are most excited for in 2022.
I am excited about One SOMPO as it brings different parts of the organization together to foster a collaborative approach to providing insurance services globally.
What is your idea of a perfect day outside of the office?
A perfect day outside of the office is attending a sporting event. Whether it is watching my boyfriend’s son in a little league baseball game or attending a Giants game with my dad, I’m happy!
