I started my career as a lawyer specialising in insurance before moving into an executive claims handling role at a leading multinational insurer. I joined Sompo in 2015 with responsibility for building our first-party claims team, before moving to become Head of Claims in November last year. We pride ourselves on our market-leading service; our commitment to pay claims fairly and promptly, but we always strive to do better. We are looking at how we can harness technology to enhance our claims processes, improve our analysis and speed up our service. However, while technology has an important role to play behind the scenes, I am also keen to ensure that we maintain the client-facing, personalised service we are known for.
