Sompo expands commercial insurance business to Singapore and Asia

Sompo’s long-term investment strategy remains steady, even as the Bank of Japan ended negative interest rates. Operating in 28 countries worldwide, the business has seen significant growth in commercial business insurance, with premiums rising from US$9 billion in 2019 to around US$16 billion today.

 

Asia, with its burgeoning growth and evolving risks like cyber-attacks and natural disasters, is a key focus. Singapore, with its strong regulatory framework and talent pool, serves as a regional hub for operations across 12 Asian markets.
