MILANO, Italy – February 1, 2023 – Sompo, a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance, today announced the appointment of Giovanni D’Antonio as Accident & Health Underwriting Manager Italy, effective as of February 1st. He will be based in Milan and report into Stefano Chiurlo, Head of Accident & Health Europe.

“Giovanni will oversee the implementation of our A&H underwriting and distribution strategy in Italy and help develop and launch new solutions. He will lead the on-going development of our book of business, based on the foundation of strong, long-term partnerships with clients and brokers alike.”
Giovanni brings 15 years of industry experience to his new role. Before joining Sompo, he was the A&H group lead underwriter for AIG and has held a number of technical roles at AXA Italy, AXA XL, XL Catlin, Zurich and Marsh.
