Meet Denisse Sosa, Mexico Hub Manager, Multinational Business Unit
Tell us about your career journey and your path to Sompo. What attracted you to Sompo?
I was born and raised in Mexico City. My journey in the Insurance business started by coincidence when I was offered a position at Marsh back in 2012. What caught my attention most was the fact that I was going to be able to practice my English as I was joining the multinational area. Since then, I´ve tried to stay in multinational because I love being able to work with people around the world. I´ve been in the industry for 10 years, in both broker and insurance companies.
I was so excited when the opportunity to join Sompo presented itself because it represented a huge challenge in my life to be part of a company with such ambition and desire to grow. Being able to coordinate the communication with all our fronting partners in Latin America keeps me motivated.
Tell us about your day job.
I coordinate business in Latin America for global programs, serving as the main contact between the Sompo network and LatAm, and providing guidance regarding local regulation and insurance markets.
What advice do you have for prospective Sompo candidates?
Don’t be afraid of change. Try to experience something new from time to time or something that you thought you couldn’t achieve or were afraid of, because at the end of the year you will realize that you are capable of doing much more than you had thought.
What is your idea of a perfect day outside of the office?
It would start with a delicious breakfast followed by a massage. After that, getting ready to take a walk on the beach (because I would be on vacation) with my two kids and husband, and spending the afternoon relaxing and doing fun activities as a family.
