Meet Naoki Inoue, Client Relationship Executive, Asian Risk Solutions, North America
Please tell us about your career journey and your path to Sompo International.
After graduating college in 2007, I joined Sompo Japan. I started my career in sales marketing (similar to field underwriter in US) for middle market clients around Tokyo Shinjuku area, which is where our global HQ is located. After spending four and a half years with that team, I moved to a different department. This new department specializes in automobile manufacturers. While I spent 5 years in the department, I learned a variety of specialized tasks. One of my good memories there is that we started a new Global Program with a Swedish Company, and I was responsible to coordinate local policies of many Asian and Oceanian countries. This gave me an opportunity to work with Sompo colleagues from many different countries.
In April 2017, I was lucky to have a chance to be transferred to the USA. At the same time, our company decided to acquire Endurance Insurance. Since then, I have been working as a Japanese Client Relationship Executive for the Northeast Region. Looking back at my past six years, I had a wonderful opportunity working with many great colleagues at Sompo International North America.
What advice do you have for prospective Sompo International candidates?
Sompo is a unique company with a mix of different cultures. You will be able to use the skills and expertise you have gained from your previous work experiences.
Tell us about an initiative at Sompo International that you are most excited for in 2023.
The One Sompo initiative. This collaboration is differentiating us from our competitors.
What is your idea of a perfect day outside of the office?
Having children changed my days dramatically. I love the casual routine of spending time with my family. Those moments make me relax and give me energy to work.
