MADRID, Spain – 23 October 2023 – Sompo today announced two appointments for its Iberian Insurance operation, José María Conde-Salazar as Head of Distribution & Client Relationship Management and Olivier Marcén as Head of Professional Lines. Both will report into Jamie Canellas, Country Manager, Insurance, Iberia.
Mr. Canellas said, “With these latest appointments to our Iberia leadership team, Sompo has taken another step forward in its quest to attract and retain top talent and provide industry-leading services across Continental Europe. As we look to build and strengthen productive partnerships with clients and brokers, in support of the company’s strategies, José Maria and Olivier’s extensive experience coupled with their strong business relationships will be invaluable in developing our position as a leader within the Iberian insurance market.”
Mr. Conde-Salazar has over 20 years of experience in the Iberian insurance market and joins from Generali Global, where he was Head of Clients and Brokers for Iberia and Latin America. Prior to that, he worked for ACE European Group, Marsh, and AIG Europe.
Mr. Marcén joins Sompo from AIG where he spent the last 17 years, most recently as Manager, Cyber and Professional Indemnity Technology Underwriting Operations in Barcelona.
